Heating crude oil and natural gas is the most basic technology in the process of oil and gas gathering and transportation. The storage, transportation, dehydration, stabilization, etc. of crude oil requires the heating of crude oil to the desired temperature. Water jacket furnace is used to heat and reduce viscosity of oil and gas produced in oil well site. In the barrel of the water jacket furnace, equipped with fire barrel, smoke pipe, oil coil and other parts, they occupy a part of the space of the barrel, the rest of the space is filled with water, but the water can not be filled, in 1/3 of the barrel.

After the fuel is burned in the barrel , the heat energy generated will be transmitted to the water in the water jacket in the form of heat transfer such as radiation and convection, so that the temperature of the water increases and part of the water vaporizes. The water and its steam will transfer the heat to the crude oil in the oil coil, so that the oil gets heat and the temperature rises. This indirect heating method is used to prevent the crude oil from coking.
